Miles and Hood Family Genealogy

The Family Histories of Allen and Andrea (Hood) Miles

Welcome to the Miles-Hood Family Genealogy Home Page. The story begins in 1996 when my wife, Andrea Hood, and myself, Allen Miles, were married. From that marriage have come five wonderful children and this site is here so that they will hopefully pass on the histories of our two families to their descendants. I would like to thank my mother-in-law, Nancy Abraham, for getting me started on this search for our ancestors.

Like many family trees ours is one that has many branches going in many different directions and I have tried to capture that by going back as far as possible in both of our lines as well as some of the relatives that we are tied to by law rather than by blood. Besides researching our ancestors, I have began the task of recording the descendants of my oldest living ancestor with the Miles names, Charles Miles (abt 1735-1777), and his wife, Elizabeth Taylor (abt 1730-1798). In the future, I may do the same for the oldest Hood in the tree, William Hood (abt 1763-1847), and his wife, Martha Blair (1772-?). If you have any questions of have information that you would like to add then please feel free to contact me.

This tree can be found on but I really wanted it to be out there for all to see, enjoy and add to so I created this site. I make every effort to validate all of the information, connections and sources in this tree. There are some unsourced connections and dates in this tree as well as connections that were made based on evidence given. Living trees transform throughout their lives, and a genealogy tree is no different in that perspective so if you have something that proves otherwise I'll be more than happy to make corrections.
